EatLoveTravelPlay Magazine: Before the Pages -A Passion Three Years in the Making

Some ideas start as a spark and then fade. Others linger, grow, and keep nudging at you until you finally give them a home. EatLoveTravelPlay Magazine was one of those sparks—born three years ago out of my love for local food, storytelling, and the small businesses and makers who pour their heart into what they do every single day.

From the beginning, it was never just about food or travel on their own. It was about people. About giving a voice to the family who runs the corner bakery, the chef experimenting with flavors in a tucked-away kitchen, the farmer waking up before dawn to bring fresh eggs to the market. It was about connecting people through their stories—their passions, their risks, their triumphs—and sharing them in a way that lets readers feel like they’re right there at the table, or under the stars, or along for the ride.

Issue No. 1: An Autumn to Savor
Issue No. 1: An Autumn to Savor

This first issue represents more than content—it represents heart. It’s a love letter to Arizona in the fall, stitched together with experiences that remind us why we eat, love, travel, and play. It’s 24 golden hours in Flagstaff, where aspens shimmer and five of the Valley’s best chefs created magic at Atria It’s a detour to Las Vegas, where the Arte Museum dissolves the edges of reality with light and sound. It’s a night out at Flour & Thyme, where pasta and wine become poetry. It’s Honeybrook Farm, where tortillas, sourdough, and pasture-raised beef sit just steps from zebras grazing in the desert sun. And it’s a calendar of Arizona’s best fall festivals and culinary gatherings—because joy multiplies when it’s shared.

For me, this isn’t just a magazine. It’s a way to honor the people who make our communities thrive, to shine a light on the experiences that bring us together, and to create something that inspires curiosity, joy, and connection.

Inside Issue No. 1

🍁 24 Hours in Flagstaff

There’s something about fall in Northern Arizona that feels like a deep breath you didn’t know you needed. Golden aspens, mountain air that smells like pine, and a sky so full of stars it makes you pause. In this story, we make elevated pitstops to visit Merkin Vinyards we cozy up at High Country Motor Lodge, gather around the table for a five-chef dinner at Atria, ride the gondola at sunrise at Arizona Snowbowl, and end the day with sandwiches that hit all the right notes at JoJoBobs—plus a slice of Rock Springs pie, because road trips deserve pie.

🌌 A Detour to the Arte Museum, Las Vegas

Tucked just steps off the Strip, away from the neon and noise, is a space that feels like stepping into a dream. The Arte Museum surrounds you in light, sound, and movement—art that you don’t just look at, but step inside and feel.

🍷 Date Night at Flour & Thyme

Some places are made for lingering, and Flour & Thyme is one of them. Thoughtful service, pasta that makes you close your eyes in happiness (the sweet corn agnolotti is a must), and a wine list that feels like a love letter to the evening.

🌾 Local Love at Honeybrook Farm

In the middle of South Gilbert sits a little farm store with a big heart. Fresh sourdough loaves, Benny Blanco’s tortillas, pasture-raised beef, and even zebras grazing nearby—it’s part market, part community, and full of charm.

📅 Arizona’s Autumn Social Scene

Fall in Arizona is made for gathering—whether it’s tacos in the street, wine in the vineyards, or celebrating culture through food and music. This calendar rounds up the very best places to be in September and October.
